Before I dive into the list, I want to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday season! I hope that wherever you are in the world, you are spending time with loved ones. I love the jovial and festive spirit people are in!
Now let’s get down to it. After all, that’s why you’re here! If you’re anything like me, you’re a last minute shopper. This isn’t just a Christmas list, refer to it when a wine lover’s birthday approaches. Any wine lover would love the following five items.
A decanter. There are so many styles to choose from. Even if they already have one, a different style would be lovely.
Just google wine decanter and you’ll see all the options out there. Walk into any specialty wine store and your options are abundant too. You can also get them at stores like Puddifoot in Vancouver, BC.
Wine pourer and stopper. I absolutely love my wine pourer and stopper and use it all the time. One of my friends asked me what the purpose of the pourer at one of my recent dinner parties. As a wine lover, it seemed pretty obvious to me, but in case you don’t know, it’s to prevent that little bit of wine after the pour from sliding down the outside of your bottle.
You can get the pourer and stopper separately, but why not kill two birds with one stone? You can get them as a unit and it’s awesome. No need to keep that cork around to close the unfinished bottle. You’ve got the stopper. The one I have is very similar to this. It works wonderfully!
A chalkboard. Ok, maybe not every wine lover would want this, but if they’re crafty as well, it’s a pretty cool gift to receive. I seem to always forget to keep an eye out for one when I go shopping. So *hint hint* to those special people in my life who are reading this 🙂 Now you know why I included this in the post! hahahahaa. I want to make something like this:
A book on wine. A wine lover would completely appreciate this sort of stuff. I’ve been wanting this book for a while: Oz Clarke’s Grapes and Wines: The Definitive Guide to the World’s Great Grapes and the Wines They Make
Lastly, a bottle of wine is ALWAYS appreciated. Especially so when thought has been put into the purchase of the bottle and the card that complements it. For example, I love to travel and discover places. That’s one of the reasons I love wine; I get a taste of a different part of the world. My friend gave me this for my birthday:
She creates one of a kind gift baskets and this sort of gift I received from her speaks to her professional abilities, how she puts thought and consideration into her baskets. Please check out her website ItsAWrapBaskets.com.
